The Waynesboro Area School District is seeking qualified individuals for the following part-time vacancies: Cafeteria Workers & Cashiers – 3.0-4.0 hours, $9.65 hour Cleaners - 5.0 hours, $10.40 hour, year round Special Education and Instructional Paraeducators – 4.0-5.5 hours, $11.70 hour (Fairview Elementary & Mowrey Elementary) Traffic Control/Crossing Guards – 2.0-4.0 hours, $9.65 to $13.00 hour Event Staff – as needed, $10.20 hour Background clearances are required for all positions. ​WASD Hybrid Learners/Families K-8 will receive an Welcome/Informational Letter via e-mail on Thursday, August 20th. WASHS administration will continue to communicate individually with learner/families regarding Apex Learning 9-12.​

The Sapphire Community Web Portal will go live for grades 1 - 12 at 4:30 pm today, July 31. Families will be able to log in and see their learner's teacher/schedule. Kindergarten families will be able to log-in and see their child's teacher on August 12, 2020. Thank you!

The WASD Board of School Directors will be meeting Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School Auditorium, 550 East Second Street. This is a change to the original location and is a live, in person meeting. Important Note: We will be following social distancing recommendations put out by the State and the CDC. Happy National Provider Appreciation Day! WASD kindergarten team and staff would like to thank our preschool teachers, daycare providers, babysitters, caregivers, and parents for all they do to support and love our youngest learners. It is because of you that we are able to unite and create a smoother transition into kindergarten and the WASD.

The WASD Budget Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th at 1 PM has been cancelled.

Ready4K Announcement - If you have a child in grades pre-k through 4th grade, on Friday, April 24, 2020, you will be invited via text messaging to participate in a program called Ready4K. Ready4K will send you one text message every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. These messages will share tips and ideas on how to help your child at home with their academic, social and emotional development. This is a free service provided by Ready4K for our families. Please feel free to opt out of these text messages at any point. Thank you!

Due to the official closure of Pennsylvania schools for the reminder of the school year, WASD will be reaching out to learners to pick up personal items from lockers or desks. However, we are honoring the stay at home orders until April 30th. WASD learners and families will be notified of pick up options in May.
