WASHS Cheerleaders ended their competition season with coming in 2nd place at the Pennsylvania Game Day Competition, with only being .7 points behind 1st place!!

Learners in Mrs. Shaull's classes created beautiful goodies that were available for staff members to purchase for their "Big Game" festivities!

​Learners in Mrs. Copenhaver's class visited the Capital and Pennsylvania Museum as part of their unit on Pennsylvania History. They were joined by a few members of the History Club. We thank Mrs. Gonzalez for her assistance in getting this trip planned and organized - all learners and staff had a great time!

As a reminder, WASD schools will have an early dismissal tomorrow, Friday, February 2, 2024. WAMS and WASHS dismissal time is 11:50 am. -Lunches WILL be served -Spring semester CT students will return in time for 11:50 am dismissal -Bell Schedule - https://5il.co/21j4r - If your child is not at WASHS for the full day (early to college, internship, etc...) we ask that they attempt to attend all of their scheduled WASHS classes. If that is not possible, please have your child connect with their teachers. 

We had a busy start to our day - whole-school assesmbly to review school expectations, safety reminders, respectful interactions with peers and staff, the importance of daily, on-time attendance, and doing one's best academically. We then took advantage of this beautiful weather to complete our January fire drill before proceeding with classes following a two-hour delay schedule! (Note: photo taken before assembly began.)

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the venue for the Winter Formal on Saturday, January 20 has been changed. The Winter Formal will now be held in the WASHS cafeteria from 7 - 10pm. Students should enter from the back parking lot and present a pre-purchased ticket to gain admittance to the dance. We thank the Class Advisors, Mrs. Arestad, and WASD custodial/maintenance department for working quickly on this venue change so Formal could go on as scheduled!

We thank our local Harbor Freight store for their generous donation to our Technology Education Department!

Our Feeding School Kids campaign is in full swing with customers engaging through round up and CHOICE donations online to support the WASD food services. In February, we will continue to fundraise through those avenues, with the addition of two programs with our vendor partners in store. Throughout the month of February, for every bag of our brand Navel Oranges purchased, $0.50 will support WASD district meal programs. Then during the week of February 2-8, for every can of Progresso soup purchased, $2 will support WASD district meal programs.

Our Unified Indoor Bocce team got their fall season underway yesterday versus Big Spring on the 10th. Teams were tied 2-2 going into overtime and we are excited to share that Wayneboro won the overtime frame! We also want to give a shout out to the Big Spring team, who made Bocce bracelets in Waynesboro colors for our athletes and coaches! This was a beautiful gesture of sportsmanship that was very kind and much appreciated. Our 2nd and last home match of the season is Wednesday, January 31 at 3:30 pm (sorry, all of the free t-shirts were given away on the 10th!).

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19, 2024! Admission Costs: K-5 - FREE with wristband (distributed at elementary schools next week). Must attend and remain with a paying adult. MS-HS Students - $3 Adults - $5 Seniors - $3

Student Council completed their second service project of the year before Christmas. Student council members read stories to learners in the WASHS and Mowrey First Start Partnerships classrooms and each student received milk, cookies, and a book to keep. We thank the WASHS students for their donations of over $475 collected through our fall field day, as well as our Local' Martin's and Galliker's dairy for their donations to support this event!
