WASD is scheduled for an early dismissal day on Monday, April 8, 2024. Our secondary learners will be dismissed at 11:50 AM and our elementary learners will be dismissed at 12:50 PM.

The Waynesboro Area School District is now in the process of determining kindergarten enrollment for August 2024. Per WASD Board Policy No. 201 children who have reached the age of five (5) before September 1, 2024, are eligible to begin kindergarten in August 2024. To make the pre-registration process easier, we are asking that you complete the survey which can be found on the district website under "Kindergarten Registration 2024-2025 School Year". Once you complete the digital pre-registration questionnaire, your next step will be attending our annual Coming to Kindergarten Orientation. The event will take place on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM at your rising kindergarten student's elementary building. Welcome Class of 2037!

Our Feeding School Kids campaign is in full swing with customers engaging through round up and CHOICE donations online to support the WASD food services. In February, we will continue to fundraise through those avenues, with the addition of two programs with our vendor partners in store. Throughout the month of February, for every bag of our brand Navel Oranges purchased, $0.50 will support WASD district meal programs. Then during the week of February 2-8, for every can of Progresso soup purchased, $2 will support WASD district meal programs.

In honor of School Bus Safety Week, WASD wanted to make available a booklet of fun activities related to school bus safety for students to learn and have fun! Go to the district website and click on your elementary child's school page. You will find it under the "STUDENTS" tab.

Come celebrate the kickoff for StoryWalk on Saturday, October 21st from 10 AM-12 PM at Main Street Park. The first 100 kids will receive a free book and activities packet. Hope to see you there!

The Waynesboro Area School District will be implementing a staggered start for the start of the 2023-2024 school year to help ease the transition to kindergarten.

Due to the preparation for the Class of 2023 graduation, the Buchanan Auto Park Stadium at WASHS will be closed to the public beginning Friday, May 26th at 7:30 am until 5:00 am on June 3rd. Thank you!

Hello Waynesboro families! Does your child turn 5 before September 1, 2023? If so they are eligible for Kindergarten this fall! WASD is one week away from our 5th annual Coming to Kindergarten Celebration. This event will be held next Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School. Come with your child at your leisure during the 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm window to learn more about early learning, receive fun activities to get ready for school, see the enrollment team and learn more about the official kindergarten registration process that is held in March. If you have not completed the Kindergarten Pre-Registration Questionnaire, visit the Kindergarten Registration 2023-2024 tab on our webpage to access the link. This helps us plan for the event and for school next year. We are excited to help your family embark on this next journey.
