Hello everyone,

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has made some new updates for quarantines and other recommendations.  The school district has to follow what the PA Dept of Health and the Dept of Education direct the school districts to do.  After the CDC released the new guidelines, we contacted our representatives at WellSpan, the South Central PA health department, and the Joint Rapid Response Center (the organization the schools work through) for information.  We know many families and staff members have had several questions about the new guidelines, so we are trying to access any new advice and guidance from the state we can.

The Joint Rapid Response Center has indicated that there will updated information coming out soon.  Upon the release of the information, we will share with everyone.

With about 20 days of school to go, we want to get through to the end of the school year.  Ironically, we counted every day we were able to stay in school at the beginning of the year.  Now, we are counting the days to make it through to the end of the year.

On another note, we are excited to begin preparations for the 21-22 school year.  In March, building principals sent out a survey to all WASD learners/families to determine their choice for education next school year.  At this time, it appears that the interest in a WASD virtual option is less than 100 learners K-12 for next school year and the overall survey responses are lower than we anticipated.  In order for us to plan accordingly, we need to have accurate enrollment numbers. This information is critical to planning the use of our teachers and resources.    We will need to assume that if a learner/family does not complete the March survey by Friday, May 7th, your child will be scheduled for an in-person classroom/ grade level.

Thank you for working with us through the challenging year.  We look forward to a new and exciting new school year in the fall.

Have a great week, stay healthy, and #borostrong
