important with exclamantion

Attention Faiview Families -

We are very excited to welcome our falcons back into the nest, live and in person starting 8/31!  We are modifying our arrival and dismissal procedures to maximize safety and efficiency as we are anticipating a great deal of car riders for arrival and dismissal this year.  Please read the attached document in its entirety to make sure you understand our changes.

We want to specifically highlight FIVE 20-21 Arrival and Dimissal Proceduresvery important changes:

  1. All arrival and dismissal will be on the back playground.  No learners will enter or exit the front of the building unless they are tardy or riding district assigned special transportation.  There is NO parking or drop off out front, including breakfast.

  2. We will have two lanes for car rider pick up at the end of the day.  Please note that there are specific grades AND specific times for each lane.  You are not permitted into the lot before your designated pick up time as you will block the lot waiting for learners who haven’t yet dismissed.  Parking will not be available in the lot at dismissal time, so please plan accordingly.  We are requesting families stay in the car in the assigned lane as much as possible or park off property and walk over.

  3. Car riders will be given a specially colored paper with your child’s name and teacher on it.  This tag must be in your window to be admitted into the line for pick up in your assigned lane at your assigned time.  If your family has more than one consistent pick up person, a second tag can be issued from the office.  Please contact Ms. Baer to arrange this (717-762-1191 ext 1405 OR ashley_baer@wasdpa.org).  If your child has more than 2 pick up people or changes regularly, you will need to share the tag with each driver as needed.

  4. Walkers are being asked to avoid crossing Fairview Ave at Third Street to avoid blocking traffic at the 4-way and therefore backing up the parking lot.  Please discuss crossing at Main Street or 4th Street/ Cleveland Avenue (“Turkey Foot”) with your child instead.  No learners may cross Fairview in front of the school as adults will not be there to support and keep learners safe at this location.

  5. If your child goes on a bus or to a daycare, they may have a specific tag attached to their backpack to help make dismissal visual for staff and keep learners safe.  Please do not remove this tag unless your child no longer goes to that daycare or facility.

Please continue to be patient and flexible with us as we work together to #ProblemSolveLikePhilo and make #PacoPositiveChange to keep our kids safe and our dismissal efficient for families.  It will be SLOWER to start with as we all get into the routine, but we anticipate a very smooth process within 2-3 weeks!
