On Tuesday, February 24, 2026 the WASD Board of School Directors approved the beginning of a 28-day public review period of the WASD Chapter 49 Induction Plan.
Induction is a "mentoring program for all newly employed professional educators." For additional information, please visit the PDE Induction website.
Chapter 4 of the PA School Code requires each school entity to submit to the PA Department of Education for approval an induction plan every 6 years as required under Chapter 49, Section 16(a). A school entity shall make its induction plan available for public inspection and comment for a minimum of 28 days prior to approval of the plan by the school entity's governing board and submission of the plan to the Department.
The public review period for the WASD New Educator Induction Plan for 2026-2032 will begin on Friday, February 27, 2026 and will end on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The plan is available on the WASD Website and hard copies are available for public review at the WASD Administration Building; 210 Clayton Avenue, Waynesboro, PA. Final approval of the WASD Board of School Directors is expected to take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
