National History Day

Several students recently competed in the regional National History Day competition held at Messiah University.  

Megan Miller placed 2nd in the documentary film category and will be advancing to the state finals to be held at the University of Scranton.  Her short film entitled "How Lucky Was I: Women's Naval Aviation Pioneer Judith Neuffer Bruner" includes Ms. Bruner's last personal interview, as she unfortunately passed away in December of 2022.

Aiden Hess also participated in the event with an exhibit on the Office of Strategic Services, that included the Ritchie Boys that were trained during World War II in Blue Ridge Summit.


PA Media and Design Competition

Students from WASHS recently competed in the regional PA Media and Design competition in New Oxford.  After a very successful day, students placed in 4 of 6 events, and three won first place in their category and are advancing to the state competition to be held in May at Dickinson College.
