First, a reminder about upcoming calendar dates. The District will be closed for teacher inservice, K-8 conferences, and Thanksgiving break beginning Monday, November 20 through Monday, November 27. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, November 28.
For Fall Career Tech students - CareerTech is open Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21. Transportation to (please arrive by 7:30 am) and from (pick up at 2:20 pm) CareerTech will be from the WASHS A-level parking lot only. Student drivers may park in any available parking space on A-level. Learners are responsible for their own transportation to and from WASHS. Wednesday, November 22 is a homebased CTE day. CareerTech is closed Monday, November 27 and Tuesday, November 28.

Third, while we hope this doesn’t come up anytime soon, I want to again remind families of the District’s plan for school closures due to inclement weather this school year. Following a survey of district families and staff in the Spring of 2023, the approved WASD calendar for the current school year includes two built-in snow make-up days and up to 5 Flexible Instruction or FID Days. Please review the FID Day information on page 2 of the monthly newsletter for additional details, including attendance requirements. Please reach out to me if you have questions about FID days. Remember, a Flexible Instructional Day is a required school day. Students must log on to their classes in order to be marked present for the day and the WASHS assignment completion policy will apply.
