WASHS Fall Dates

Good evening high school families, Several reminder for the rest of the month and moving into the beginning of November:

  • Saturday, 10/21: Trunk or Treat featuring trunks decorated by many of our clubs & student activities. 5-7:00 pm in the courtyard; please park in the d-wing parking lot (see our WEBSITEfor additional information).
  • Friday, 10/27:
    • End of 1st Marking Period
    • October Edition of WASHS Family Newsletter will be shared
    • Class of 2023 Common App & College App Completion Event from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please email Mrs. Phillips, School Counselor, with questions - michele_phillips@wasdpa.org. (see our WEBSITEfor additional information)
  • Tuesday, 10/31: Learners may wear costumes to school, so long as costumes follow the guidelines below:
    • Costumes must be school appropriate and follow WASD dress code
    • No hats, masks, or face paint
    • No inflatable costumes
    • Props must fit in a bookbag and may not resemble a weapon
    • Students must be able to sit in a desk in a desk while wearing the costume
  • Wednesday, 11/1: ALL 10th graders, include fall CareerTech, will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). Students are encouraged to do their best on this assessment because it may be used to meet PA Dept of Ed Act 158 graduation requirements. If you questions about the ASVAB, please email Class of 2026 School Counselor, Mr. Leidy, at luke_leidy@wasdpa.org.
  • Thursday, 11/2: 1st MP Report cards posted to the Sapphire Community Web Portal. If you need assistance with your Parent/Guardian Portal Account, please contact the WASHS main office at 717-762-1191 x1206.
  • Friday, 11/3: Student Council Reward Day
    • WASHS will be following an internal early dismissal schedule - classes in the morning, activities from 12:00 noon - 2:25 pm.
    • Students are asked to donate $1 to participate in one of several activities planned by Student Council. 
    • Food trucks will be on site for students who would like to purchase snacks and drinks. Students may also bring their own snacks for the afternoon since lunches will be early.
    • Donations will benefit one of Student Council's Community Service initiatives this year - books, milk, and cookies for First Start Partnerships Pre-K students at the WASHS and Mowrey sites.
    • Fall CareerTech students will remain at CT for the full day. They will be able to participate in Student Council's Spring Reward Day.
  • Tuesday, 11/7 (Visit our WEBSITEfor additional details)
    • Class of 2024 & 2025 Early Grads - Cap & Gown Meeting - MANDATORY - from 7:35 am -8:20 am (including Apex students). Fall CT students will stay for the meeting and then be transported to CT after the meeting. If you cannot attend (e.g., college course, work experience at the same time), please email Class of 2024 assistant principal, Mr. Bigler at martin_bigler@wasdpa.org. 
    • Class of 2026 Class Ring Meeting - from 8:25-9:00 am (Apex students are invited to attend if they choose). Purchase of a class ring is OPTIONAL. Fall CT students will not stay for this meeting - they receive information about class rings via email and a packet of information the next day.
  • Wednesday, 11/8: AP Exam Orders & payment due to the WASHS main office. Note: There is a reduced fee for students who qualify for free/reduced lunch. Please email Dr. Kopco, assistant principal & AP coordinator, with questions about AP exams and/or reduced fees - allison_kopco@wasdpa.org.
