On Saturday, March 28th, WASHS and WAMS Science Olympiad teams traveled to Millersville University to compete in the Central Regional tournament against 25 other school districts. After months of rigorous research, studying, building, and testing, their hard work culminated in a spectacular performance for both teams. WAMS will be represented in the State Tournament for the 5th time, and WASHS will be making their first appearance ever at this level. Only 36 teams from the entire state qualify for the State Tournament to be held at Penn State, Altoona campus on April 25th.
The students showcased their expertise across a wide array of science and engineering disciplines, bringing home a combined 50 medals across 24 different events. It was amazing to hear Waynesboro teams called to the podium so many times during the award ceremony.
