The Class of 2029 (our amazing 8th graders) ended the school year with excitement. Students took a trip to Hershey Park as their Field Day event and had a lot of fun and perfect weather! A few even got stuck on the Great Bear ride. Thanks to the many chaperones who helped make the day a success
The following day was the 8th grade Awards Assembly where it was a time to celebrate and honor many of our eighth grade students. The honorees, nominated and chosen by teachers and staff have shown themselves in areas such as academics, leadership and extracurricular involvement. We were honored to have the American Legion back to present the American Legion Award to two students and Mr. Klink started a new tradition with the Principals Perseverance Award (Chris Walker & Jade Clayton)
Congratulations to the following students ~
American Legion Award ~ Mitchell Hundley & Simone Brannen
Thomas Baylor Memorial Award ~ Zachary McCallum & Jayli Robinson
Emily A. Abbott Memorial Award ~ Kara Eskridge
Deborah Moore Memorial Award ~ Evan Forberger
There were 62 students presented the Presidential Gold Academic Award and 71 students presented the Presidential Silver Award. Awards were also given for County Chorus, County Band, Student Council, Academic Competition, Student Helper Recognition, Perfect Attendance as well as students who participated in 3 sports.
The morning ended with Mr. Klink sharing some words of advice to the eighth grade students as they prepared to move on to high school. School Counselor, Colette Rooney also shared some thoughts and was presented a gift as she has ended her counseling career to stay home and help care for her new granddaughter!
We wish the Class of 2029 great success and can’t wait to see where they go in the future!
