In order to raise funds to support various school activities and trips we will be conducting our 8th Annual WAMS Walkathon on Friday, September 27, 2019. The rain date will be Monday September 30, 2019. This year we are running this event in the fall based upon parent/guardian feedback due to the amount of trips and/or events our students participate in the spring. Please support our students by helping your student to obtain pledges from family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors.
The WAMS Walkathon will take place during the regular school day. Participating students will walk to the WASHS track and will participate in the walkathon. A second change to our annual walk-a-thon will be after the students walk, students will walk to Memorial Park for lunch with a chaperoning teacher. Students will be able to choose from a variety of food vendors and food trucks at the park for lunch. This change will help with supervision and will allow students to have more time at Memorial Park for reward time for participating in the walkathon. Students should bring $10 for lunch. Students involved in the walkathon will be excused from their classes and any assignments during their time at the walkathon.
In order to participate in the 2019 WAMS Walkathon, students must raise a total of $25 or more in donations. We are asking for students to only accept flat donation amounts. The total amount of donations must be turned in to the school by Friday, September 20th, 2019, in order to ensure student participation in the event. If a parent elects to pay by check, please make the check payable to WAMS Interested Parents.
The top three fundraising students for the 2019 WAMS Walkathon will also receive a prize for their efforts. First prize for the highest earner will be a $150 Wal-Mart gift card, second prize will be a $75 Wal-Mart gift card, and third prize will be a $50 Wal-Mart gift card.
