Assistant Principal

Greetings Fairview Falcon Families,

The 2019-2020 school year has gotten off to a fantastic start here at "The View." Students and staff are working hard on academics as well as social and emotional well-being. The staff here is committed to making sure we are providing the support that all of our learners need not only to be successful in the classroom but to flourish outside of the classroom as well.

We have been able to launch some new initiatives here to help with our learners emotional well-being in addition to the reboot of our Project Team program. Teachers have created "peace corners" in their classrooms in order to give learners a break when needed which has proved to be very helpful for those who feel overwhelmed. The addition of the "Mindfulness Room" has given those learners a safe space to go where they can practice self-regulation and the ability to refocus. We want to give a huge shout-out to those teachers who have donated items to the Mindfulness Room as well Mrs. Ramsey and Mrs. Beaver who have done an amazing job in creating a peaceful, calming, relaxing space for our learners.

Our Project Team reboot has been a success thus far and we are encouraging our learners to abide by the six pillars of this program. We are constantly encouraging everyone to be a leader, a helper, a problem solver, be resilient, make positive changes, and promote anti-bullying. Rallying around these characteristics will help grow our learners in all facets of school.

The staff here at Fairview are continuously working together to give our learners the best educational experience possible. We are here to offer support to all of our Falcons whether it be academically, socially, or emotionally. It truly takes a collaborative effort between school, families, and community to make our learners successful and we encourage all stakeholders to take an active interest in our school and our learners.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child’s education.

Regards,

Mr. Matthew Jenkins, Assistant Principal, Fairview Elementary
