Kindergarten Registration 2017 - 2018

Welcome Class of 2030!

Hello parents and guardians!  Kindergarten Registration for the 2017 - 2018 school year is upon us.  Kindergarten Registration is done by appointment only.  Please make sure you bring your child with you.  Registration will take place on the following dates in the lower lobby at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School.  Please park and enter through the event entrance:

Monday, March 20, 2017 - Hooverville Elementary - AM Only
Monday, March 20, 2017 - Fairview Elementary - PM Only
Tuesday, March 21, 2017 -Fairview Elementary 
Wednesday, March 22, 2017 - Mowrey Elementary
Thursday, March 23, 2017 - Summitview Elementary 

Step 1: Complete Kindergarten Pre-Registration Form

If you did not receive a Kindergarten Pre-Registration form in the mail, please take a moment to fill-out the pre-registration form using the link below and turn it in to your child's home school.  Home schools are determined by your home address.  If you are unsure of your child's home school, please contact Missie Baer in Transportation for assistance, she can be reached at 717-762-1191 X 1264. Forms can also be obtained at the WASD Administrative Office.

Step 2:  Call Your Home School to Schedule an Appointment for Registration

Fairview Elementary: Mrs. Deborah Brown 717-762-1191 X 1400

Step 3: Complete Online Registration Through Sapphire


Before registration you will need to complete the online registration portion through our student information system called Sapphire.  Directions to register your student in Sapphire can be downloaded here.

If you are unable to successfully complete the online portion there will be lap-tops and additional assistance the day of Kindergarten Registration.  

Step 4: Gather Required Documents (listed below)

You will need to bring:
1: A valid photo ID card
2: Child's Birth Certificate
3: Current Immunization Record
4: Proof of Residency (mortgage statement, lease/rental agreement)
(Please note that electric, cell phone or other bills are not considered proof of residency)


If you do not have the above documents, you will be unable to complete the registration process.  Your child can not be registered for kindergarten for the 2017 - 2018 school year without these documents.

Step 5: Complete Additional Registration Documents

The documents listed below to register need to be completed prior to registration.  They can be filled out one of two ways.

Option 1: Download, fill-out electronically, print off and bring with you on registration day.
Option 2: Download, print off, fill out by hand and bring with you on registration day.

Kindergarten Food Service Letter - Please submit application after 7/1.  You do not need this for registration.

Student Health Information - Fillable
Physical Exam Form

Transportation Information - Fillable
Parental Custody (if applicable) - Fillable

If you are in need of a Multiple Occupancy Affidavit or a 1302 Affidavit use the links below. The Multiple Occupancy Affidavit and 1302 Affidavits are documents that need to be notarized. The Waynesboro Area School District provides notary services for these two documents at no charge.  
  
Notarized WASD 1302 Affidavit (if applicable)
When obtaining the notarization of the 1302 Affidavit the parent/guardian and resident need to be present.
Notarized WASD Multiple Occupancy Affidavit (if applicable)
When obtaining the notarization of the Multiple Occupancy Affidavit the owner or renter of the specified address needs to be present.

Step 6: Community Portal Sign-Up (Optional)

This step may be completed at Kindergarten Registration or at Back to School Night.  It will take you an additional 15 minutes after you have completed registration.  The community portal is where you will be able to access your students information in real time.  You will have access to the following information: student information, current schedule, courses and grades, attendance, discipline, fees, report cards and progress reports, building correspondence and more.
