INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Waynesboro Area School District adopted the provisions of Act 35/36 2002 under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Integrated Pest Management. Under the provisions of the plan, non-chemical pest management treatment will be implemented whenever practical. Advance notification of pesticide treatment will be posted prior to all applications. Parents or guardians also may request individual notification prior to pesticide use within the school district by contacting the Legal Compliance Coordinator at (717) 762-1191, ext. 1171. Things you can do to help: Make sure there are no crumbs, candy or unwrapped food items in your children’s coat and pants pockets. Also, clean out their book bags on a daily basis.

ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Waynesboro Area School District has completed the physical inspection and preparation of the Asbestos Management plan as required by the 1988 Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). Copies of the Asbestos Management Plan are on file in each building as well as the superintendent’s office in the district administration building. Anyone wishing to review these documents may do so at the respective building.

PENNSYLVANIA WORKER AND COMMUNITY RIGHT TO KNOW

The Waynesboro Area School District complies with Pennsylvania Law 734 No. 159. The Pennsylvania Worker and Community Right to Know Act provides for information to be made available to employees and community residents regarding hazardous substances introduced into the workplace and into the general environment by employers subject to the law.
