Ms. Tracy Bartlett

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Tracy Bartlett, M.S./CCC-SLP

Welcome to the new school year! I am the speech/language pathologist that will be providing speech therapy at both Summitview Elementary School and the Senior High School. I look forward to meeting your child, and working together with you and your child to improve his/her communication skills!

I was new to the district during the 2017-18 school year. I am still very excited to be here! I worked for the previous 18 years at the Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12, and for 8 years prior to that in the medical end of speech therapy. I am a native of Greencastle, and received both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from James Madison University in Virginia. In 2003, I earned a Professional Certificate in Autism from The Pennsylvania State University to enhance my instruction of students on the autism spectrum. I currently hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a license to practice speech/language pathology in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and an Instructional II teaching certificate in speech and language impaired, and special education N-12.

Your child and I will be working very hard this year to progress in his/her speech/language IEP goals. The activities we will complete in speech therapy will vary based on your child's goals and present levels of performance/functioning. Students at the elementary level will engage frequently in game playing as this is vital in developing critical communication and social skills. Rest assured that any game we play is designed to address speech/language skills and has evidence to support its use in speech therapy sessions. Students at the high school level will be working on their communication skills with their transition goals in mind to help to prepare them for life beyond high school.

Regardless if your child is at the elementary or high school level, we will be working to improve his/her functional communication skills so that he/she is able to effectively and efficiently convey wants, needs, thoughts and ideas while participating in the education setting.

You will receive a progress report each marking period so you can see your child's progress toward his/her speech/language goals. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
